Decor is hip but understated, with modest artwork on terra-cotta walls. The dining rooms are intimate and cozy without being crowded. What's referred to as the "I-Spy table" is a padded bench against a wall that provides a movie-theater view of the rest of the room--perfect for the casual voyeur.
The menu seems short, but this is because it changes daily, allowing for maximum creativity and freshness of ingredients. The relatively small number of offerings is compensated for by attention to detail and presentation. Each offering, from appetizers to salads to entrees, is accompanied by a wine recommendation. The salad of arugula with smoked venison and shave Parmesan is a knockout. The dessert menu tempts with confections like apple wontons with cajeta (caramel) ice cream and "Cindy's 5-Way"--dollops of white and dark chocolate mousse, dense brownies, chocolate chip cookies.
