For a truly romantic getaway regardless of the season you must visit Bar Habor, Maine. We visited in the summer and again in the Fall and both times were outstanding.

The summer months are very moderate and the foliage in the fall is breathtaking.

We stayed at the Bar Habor Inn and Spa. It is nestled among trees and opens up to the ocean so you have a wonderful view at every angle. The grounds are lovely and if you decide to take a stroll along the quaint road that brought you in or along the ocean edge you won't be disappointed.

The rooms are lovely and well appointed (we had a fireplace), the staff very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was awesome with a delicious variety of seafood and other dishes along with a spectacular view.

During my stay we ventured into town, parked the car, got a map and set out walking. There are so many lovely little stores and churches that we had to limit ourselves in order to have time to do all that we wanted to do.

We did decide to charter a deep sea fishing trip. What a blast, but be forewarned if you are prone to motion sickness take something before so you won't suffer if it is a bit choppy. When we returned the crew had cleaned our fish and the Bar Habor Inn prepared them for dinner!

On a side note although the placed we stayed was pricey there are many reasonably priced accomdation's in that area as well.The website I provided list several.

I would recommend this getaway to anyone looking for a relaxing and romantic time.
