This gem is nestled in the woods of Davis Oklahoma by scenic Turner Falls. Don't let the idea of staying in a "cabin" put you off though. These cabins are far from primitive.

We decide rather spur of the moment to take a weekend getaway and decided on River Bend Lodge. When I say it was spur of the moment it was around 7:00 p.m. on a Friday night! We called the manager and she was more than happy to help us out and in fact gave us a discounted rate since we would be arriving around 9:00 p.m. We had checked out the website and found out that if you request the manager can prepare the cabin for you or even prepare a meal for you and deliver it to your cabin.

The drive to Davis (we had been before so we knew how lovely it is) is spectacular. Lots of wooded hills.

The cabin we chose was amazing (we had cabin no.2). It was 2 story and gorgeous. Every detail had been thought out. There were candles everywhere, cozy throws, cd player, full kitchen and grill outside. In addition there was a jacuzzi in the bathroom as well as an outside jacuzzi on the upstairs deck. Oh I forgot to mention there was a deck upstairs as well as downstairs with comfortable chairs and tables as well as candles. They also have an outside fire pit with log benches if you want to have a bonfire.

We stayed mostly upstairs but the downstairs was fully equipped with 2 other bedrooms, a sitting area and another bathroom.

Although the cabins are in the same area you are still secluded because of the trees, although it is a quick walk to the other cabins.

Outside the cabin just a bit is a winding stream and a fishing pond (complete with fishing poles) if you want some outside activity. In addition, you are minutes from the Turner Falls and Arbuckle Wilderness (which is a drive through wilderness safari).

One thing you must do is go to the fried pie store. It's actually a small gas station/fried pie store which I know sounds off putting but the pies are to die for! We had the breakfast pies and bought several of the fruit pies to bring back with us.

I strongly recommend River Bend Lodging for a romantic getaway!
