Finding out about each other is the point of a first date. Do you have things in common? What are each other's likes...dislikes, etc? This get-to-know-me date is fun and lighthearted with a twist.
CREATIVE SPARK: Have you ever gone to a get-to-know-me group party and played the game where the host places the name of a famous person on your back or forehead and then you had to go up to people and ask questions about yourself so you could guess who you are? This date is somewhat like that.
CREATIVE DATE IDEA: Before the date starts, each of you needs to write on separate index cards at least three famous people that you admire or aspire to be and place in separate envelopes for each famous person. These people need to be well known enough that the other person has somewhat of a chance to guess them.
Diversifying your people will help keep things interesting. In other words, don't pick all athletes or all actors or all singers or all superheroes. Mix it up a bit.
You need to place some what of a hint on the outside of the envelope so you'll know which famous person your date is trying to guess at that time. If you chose an athlete, then you might put an "A" for athlete on the envelope.
Now while you are driving or eating or having desert take turns giving each other one of your envelopes. Now they must figure out their true identity by asking other people questions about themselves. "Do people normally see me in a suit?" "Am I on TV every week?" "Would I read my name in a gossip column?"
After the person successfully guesses who they are then you can talk about what you like or dislike about this famous person. In doing so, you get to know a little bit about each others role models, idols or heroes. If a person is stumped and can't guess, then give them clues or just have them open up the envelope.
If your date has Napoleon Dynamite, Flav-a-Flav, or Britney as people they look up to or aspire to be, then politely excuse yourself, grab a taxi home, and change your phone number .
